DANCE OF COLOR AND MOTION
24x36x.75'
ACRYLIC PAINT
Dance of Color and Motion captures those pivotal moments in our lives when everything seems chaotic. Everything is not as we knew it to be. We’re caught between what was and what’s yet to come. Like the swirling colors that merge and separate across the canvas these transitional periods can feel overwhelming, scary yet beautiful at the same time. This piece embodies the
experience of standing at life’s crossroads, where paths, emotions and possibilities collide in a whirlwind of potential energy and success. The vibrant yellow might represent hope breaking through, the deep blue our moments of despair, worry and the bold reds our passion that drives us forward. Just like the paint poured onto the canvas, we must trust in the process, allowing ourselves to be carried by the current while remaining open to where the dance might lead us.
MOUNTAIN ESCAPE
24x24x1"
ACRYLIC PAINT
This vibrant abstract captures the lush, layered beauty of the North Carolina mountains through bold strokes of emerald, chartreuse, and cerulean. The painting evokes the sensation of standing among forests where light filters through dense canopies, creating dancing patterns of shadow and brilliance. The energetic brushwork mirrors the vitality of mountain life—the constant movement of wind through ridges, the play of seasons across slopes, and that profound sense of being embraced by nature's abundance. It's a celebration of the wild, untamed spirit that makes mountain living feel less like a location and more like a state of peace.
I TALK YOU LISTEN
24x30x.5
Acrylic paint
"I Talk You Listen" depicts the overwhelming, one-sided nature of a conversation where one voice dominates while the other is submerged. The painting shows a chaotic storm of rust-orange and copper tones—aggressive, insistent, speaking loudly—sprawling across deep blue depths that represent the listener, quiet and absorbing everything. The white highlights suggest moments where the listener tries to surface, to interject, but they're quickly covered over by another wave of burnt sienna monologue. It's the visual equivalent of nodding while drowning, of being present but not heard, of the exhaustion that comes from being a vessel for someone else's words while your own remain submerged in the deep blue silence.
COURAGE IS POWER
14x11x75"
ACRYLIC PAINT
This powerful artwork captures the journey from darkness into light—a visual metaphor for the courage it takes to live authentically. The stark contrast between shadow and radiance, connected by those deliberate footsteps, represents the path we walk when we choose truth over silence.
For LGBTQ+ individuals, this journey often means confronting societal expectations, risking rejection, and finding the strength to say “this is who I am” in a world that hasn’t always made space for that truth. There is profound beauty in that emergence—in choosing to live openly rather than hidden, in sharing stories that have been suppressed, in walking boldly from the shadows into the warmth of self-acceptance.
But this resonates beyond any single community. Each of us carries truths that feel risky to reveal—parts of ourselves we’ve kept hidden out of fear, shame, or the weight of others’ expectations. Whether it’s our identity, our dreams, our struggles, or our authentic voice, we all know what it means to stand at that threshold between darkness and light, wondering if we have the courage to step forward. The bravery to live and share our true stories, whatever they may be, is a universal human challenge—and a universal human triumph.
KEEPER OF SECRETS
18x24x1.5"
ACRYLIC PAINT
KEEPER OF SECRETS is a delightful whimsical portrait of someone who knows delightful secrets. Perhaps where the best wine is hidden, or the shortest route to your favorite place or maybe knows how to let go and enjoy life. The loose playful brushstrokes mirror her free-spirited nature. She prefers to see the world through gold vs rose colored eyes. This is a portrait of Wonder itself, a human who reminds us that magic lives in the spaces between what we see and feel, in the golden moments of joy when anything is possible.
SUBCONSCIOUS CURRENTS
8x10X.25"
ACRYLIC PAINT
Subconscious Currents emerges from the
unpredictable actions between intention and
surrender which defines the dirty pour technique. Like the thoughts and dreams that flow through our minds beyond conscious control, this piece was born from a process where I could only set the stage‚ choosing colors, mixing medium, and releasing the paint then stepping back and allow
the work to reveal itself. Through “SUBCONSCIOUS CURRENTS," I celebrate
both the mystery of the creative process and the beautiful complexity of the human mind. Two forces that, when we learn to trust them, can create something far more profound than we could ever plan.
Ancestral Angels
9x11x75"
ACRYLIC PAINT
An abstract artist takes inspiration from everywhere. This is the vision I had while reading the story of a young Indigenous American girl. I saw this face as her guardian . She had trouble believing in her ancestral heritage so I felt she needed to see them not just hear about them. I feel we all have guardian angels. What do you see in this painting?
MEMORIES
8x10X.5"
ACRYLIC PAINT
Painting through grief can be such a powerful way to process loss. This painting has become both a working - through of my sadness and a lasting tribute - Something beautiful born from something painful. He will continue to be with us in this gentle, luminous bloom.
The Face of Pain
8x10x.75"
ACRYLIC PAINT
This piece was painted during a time of physical and emotional pain after a horrific accident. I woke one night and went to my art room and she was born. In her, I left anger, fear and at the end I felt hope, and it shows in the yellow across her face. Today many years later I’m still affected by the accident but I have strength and a positive outlook. In her eyes I see pain and in the other the glimpse of a pain free day. Painting that night was a very cathartic experience. Channeling traumatic experiences is not just an artistic expression but a form of healing. It’s a testament to art’s power as both witness to our struggles and a vehicle for transformation.
FACES IN MY COFFEE
20x16"
ACRYLIC PAINT
A very unexpected surprise in the face that appears to be having an identity crisis. Asking the question: is it a serious expressionist statement or a cheeky geometric portrait? Is that a nose or a beak? What about the eyebrow; or is that eyeliner gone wild? Whatever you see… enjoy the fun than comes with interpreting abstract paintings.
LIFE IS MEANT TO BE LIVED
20x16"
ACRYLIC PAINT
This painting represents the many moments that we endure in life - moments that are separate, but become mixed and blended into the tapestry that is our stories. Each moment, dripping with emotions such as grief, joy, love and pain, become blended together to create the masterpiece that is our life.
VESTIGES OF HELENE
20x16X.5"
ACRYLIC PAINT
The painting evokes a feeling of standing at the edge of transition. The aftermath of Hurricane Helene intrudes in the memory of what was.The final moments before a storm transforms the landscape. There's turbulence here, visible in those agitated black scratches and nervous marks that scatter across the surface like bare branches against a sunset, or cracks spreading through something that once held firm. The dominant yellows and reds pulse with warmth, but they're being consumed, invaded by darker browns and grays that seep in from the edges like encroaching shadows .
MYSTERIOUS DEPTHS
20x16.5"
ACRYLIC PAINT
It's a painting about the secret life that exists just beneath the placid surface, that parallel world of refracted light and drifting matter that we only glimpse when we pause long enough to really look. The overall effect is both peaceful and alive, capturing that sense of suspended time that comes from watching light dance through waters of a Lily Pad.
UNDER THE TREES
20x16.5"
ACRYLIC PAINT
This painting embodies what it's like to lounge under the early Spring branches of flowering trees, being one with nature and embracing the beauty of our natural world.
WEB
2.5X3.5"
ACRYLIC PAINT
This painting is small, but full of emotion. A portrayal of the complex web of life, brightness and darkness intermingling.
AUTUMN IN APPALACHIA
2.5x3.5"
ACRYLIC PAINT
Autumn in Appalachia is unrivaled beauty. Layers of green, red, orange and yellow explode in our mountain region, turning trees and bushes into nature's fireworks. I captured that feeling in this tiny, palm sized painting - so you can bring a little bit of Appalachia's Autumnal fireworks home with you.
